This page describes Eli Review as a technology, apart from the nuts and bolts of how the app works. The details here describe how the app functions and the policies the govern its operation.
- Browser-based: Eli Review is a software service that runs inside a web browser. It’s built according to current web standards, which means it should operate well in any modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc) and on any platform (mobile, tablet, desktop, etc). This also means that schools do not require any IT infrastructure or support beyond an internet connection to run Eli Review.
Like most apps, Eli no longer supports Internet Explorer.
- Security: Eli Review takes two approaches to protecting student and instructor data: 1) we employ not only industry-standard security on our servers but also have a third-party monitor constantly watching for attacks, and 2) we collect minimal information to begin with, meaning that (should the worst happen) there’d be very little risk. Read more in our Terms of Use and our privacy policy.
- Terms of Use: all users must agree to certain terms before they can use Eli Review. Users agree to conduct themselves productively. For full details, see the complete Terms of Use.
- Privacy and Copyright: Eli Review takes user security and privacy very seriously. In short, all users (instructors and students) retain ownership of their work, and it will never be sold to anyone else. For full details, see our complete privacy policy.
- Accessibility: Eli Review takes the promise of accessibility for all users very seriously. Beyond complying with the basic Section 508 Standards for web app accessibility, Eli Review works hard to ensure that all features work well for low-vision users and for those utilizing screen readers. More details are available in our Voluntary Product Accessibility Form (VPAT).
